Seems to me, it’s just GOT to be a desperate hope that talking about nukes will scare Iran enough, that President Dipshit won’t be able to take it to the point of actually doing it, but he has shown himself to be capable of doing unspeakable things.
Seems he’s burned both his backchannel and his bridge and the only thing left to him is talking like a raving psychopath.
Anyone left out there with sanity still intact will be trying very hard to talk him out of it, but there IS a perfectly usable means to FORCE him out of it if anyone will stop playing politics long enough employ it.
