the h-1b visa law needs overhauled

...

That's flat.

We can't expect our hotshot innovators/manufacturers to avoid tightening their payroll belts when they feasibly can... either when trying to push their companies up firmly into a reliably profitable business, OR when trying to keep their reliably profitable business profitable at all during downturns. That does NOTHING but harm.

And I do NOT expect Elon to spend his personal billions to keep American labor happy. He doesn't have enough billions to cover THAT bottomless pit, and you know it.

What I do seriously expect is for our country to up its educational game to be steadily producing the kind of talent it takes to be VALUABLE to our businesses... whether that is in the university system or specialized business schools or trade schools or on-the-job training.

What I'm trying and failing to convey because neither of us knows the lingo well enough to be clear to people who can look up the jargon involved is that we, as a nation, are in trouble deep, and we cannot be slowing anything threatening to bring us into the third millennium as a strong and free America.

IF we TRULY do NOT have qualified hotshots for the tasks RIGHT NOW, then let them be imported. Where any exist here and want the jobs, THEY get the jobs before we import people... or whosoever hires the import gets dragged off to be tarred and feathered. That can be the wording of the upgraded H-1B visa law.

JUST DON'T YOU DARE IMPEDE GETTING OUR MANUFACTURING BACK!

Or I will hunt you down and beat you with my cane.

pipe up any time....
