Need to explain themselves to Steve Bannon. He's no dope, and if they tell him we seriously DO NOT have the right kind of engineers for the project of returning manufacturing to our shores, BECAUSE all those jobs have long since been offshored to other countries for decades, maybe a light bulb will go on in his head.
Like, "Oh, they're not always trying to fuck the American Worker." It sucks that those visas have been abused to the rafters by fuckers of every stripe for way too long, but they're NOT talking about staffing hospitals and people to write code for standard business applications. They're talking about AI code for humanoid robots and the machinery to work with third millennium materials to build third millenium cars and computers and phones and planes and jets and rockets and drones and spaceships and bullet trains and submarines and tanks and tractors and more robots!
Yes, there won't be people on the assembly lines for these anymore. Those people will have to learn to run and maintain the automation that's doing their old jobs, OR get jobs at the bazillion businesses that will pop up to provide materials and parts for all that.

I do not think I'm wrong about this... but....
They're trying to rebuild our manufacturing might, and we're SUCH troglodytes from our lifetimes without that, we DO NOT compute here. Elon and Vivek and friends DO. Somebody PLEASE get this through to Bannon for me. Or somebody who can get through to ANYBODY with some pull on the transition team.
