Because it just struck me that Donald is trying to adhere to the true ethic of this runaway hit that might end up having been THE number one best thing CeeLo Green ever put out.

He wrote it with Danger Mouse on the theme of and sampling from the Reverberi brothers' spaghetti western soundtrack "Last Man Standing", and the part about wanting to have the heart to lose your life out on a limb is transcendental indeed for a pop song, but I wonder if anyone on the planet can manage his phrasing on the original cut. That song is NOT easy to sing.

He can't even duplicate it most of the time.

It has knocked me the fuck right out since the very first time I heard it.

So I guess I should point out that I admire Daryl Hall for the chutzpah of trying to sing it at all, since he had to try to adapt it quite a bit to sing it with CeeLo.
