Don't know how many people know it but Robbie was half-Canadian-injun and half-kosher-nostra, which I think pretty much pegs his whole life... his creative brilliance and steady bead on the bottom line.
It was the latter that perpetually put him at odds with Levon Helm, who never in his life could even find the bottom line... or not that one anyway.
