not a good way to start my day

This fellow is one of the more scrutable China apologists online... and I don't mean that in a derogatory way. I mean we are pumped full of so much BS about China that the man is doing us a big favor by trying to set us straight on such a regular basis. Even if he only ever manages to convey a reasonable alternative narrative that may or may not be exactly true, I happen to think by now that it's usually much closer to exactly true than stuff we hear elsewhere.

So right now I feel a little like maybe my face has been sanded and safety pins applied where it broke the skin. I really, really can't take much more of filthy people, those psychopathic embodiments of sewage whose primary place of business is in places like DC and London and Tel Aviv and Brussells.

We've heard SO much squawking about their cruelty to Uyghurs, and then I see that little Chinese woman who motors all over the place on a scooter to vist people in China. She takes us to visit the "oppressed" Uyghurs and we get to see with our own eyes a thriving population of industrious types with their own ways of dressing and eating and farming and marketing and partying.

She drove me all over Tibet with its SERIOUSLY not suffering inahabitants. I mean, maybe they miss their Dalai Lama and maybe they don't really miss him at all. Same as with the Uyghurs. Still Tibet through and through, only now they have things like plumbing and electricity and businesses serving tourism... not to mention fewer yaks and humans being eaten by snow leopards now that they live in houses with pastures instead of living in yurts days' journeys from settlements.

I mean, yes, still some, but they've got ATVs and snowmobiles.

I'm starting to think that Mike Benz is precisely right.

pipe up any time....
