Both sides are discussing the time Julian Assange served. Defense attorney Barry Pollack argued that Assange suffered 14 years of “restrictions on his liberty,” which he said includes his time spent at Belmarsh Prison in Britain and the roughly seven years he spent holed up in the Ecuadorian Embassy in London.
“The government does not consider any time before he was in Belmarsh as part of his sentence,” U.S. attorney Matthew McKenzie responded.
“No further incarceration is warranted,” Pollack said.
