And good riddance. No. Really. The arrogance, the barbaric hauteur of Western "Civilization" has resulted in entirely too much death, destruction, and immiseration of billions. If we were not so spoiled and lazy and, frankly, frightened out of our wits, the world could already have been a much better place.
Of course, our leaders don't want a much better world. They want terror and misery out here, beyond their fortified castles. They want permanent global feudalism, and won't be denied as long as we're too torpid to deny them.
