There are people who matter to me a lot right in the thick of this stuff every single day of their working lives, and even home lives, but I'm imagining how they are carrying out this feat and even in its gentlest manifestation, it cannot be pretty.
It needs to be permanent, not temporary, but everything's been so badly mishandled for SO long, a final solution will be like Hitler's if it is to work, and the people who got fat off all the money we've spent to resolve this problem — budget gurus living in the Berkeley Hills, and supervisors living in Pacific Heights, for example — Grease Slick and Bird Breed cronies — are the ones who deserve that fate, not the immiserated and miserable, even if they were only crazies and addicts or even plain lazy people who became homeless from sheer lack of moral or mental wherewithal to avoid this fate.
