It might seem scary, but there is every chance it is the herald of Europe making friends with Russia. Every single one of them wants energy from Russia, and knows this sanctions business has FINALLY backfired SO epically that it can't do anybody any good to keep pretending.
It could be the end of both the NATO offensive alliance and the not-at-all democratic EU. OR they will have to morph into more positive organizations to survive.
Darn.
