They're almost all well over prime fighting age, hungry and abandoned by their command... while weapons sent to help them are showing up for sale on the dark web. This means most of their young men are dead or too injured to fight or left the country. The good part about this is that more mature men are much less apt to follow orders from a coke head, or even from their commanders on the battlefield. They're more likely to realize Russians will treat them far better than any other fate awaiting, give them a chance to get back to their families in one piece.
