I got a telephone call this morning from the County with a recorded warning to stay off the beach and away from the harbors because an undersea volcano had gone off near Australia... actually very near Tonga. So I didn't. Would not have because I'm still wrestling with my abdominal disaster, but I guess some people just couldn't resist....
Dip shits.

Well, there were a bunch of idiots at the beach today or down at the harbors to watch the boats crash into each other. It wasn't very spectacular, but still some people managed to get hurt.
The largest waves have been observed in Port San Luis, Arena Cove and Crescent City, as of late Saturday afternoon, the NWS said. Port San Luis has seen waves as high as 4.3 feet while Arena Cove and Crescent City have seen 3.7-foot waves.I couldn't find us any pictures from up here. The local paper is only once a week and their FB page is now private. RHBB has pictures of gawkers down in Noyo Harbor in Mendo World. Pfeh.
Still, there's another high tide later tonight, but not as high as this morning's, and the alert is staying up because it's a volcano, not apt to be just one shock or dump of material into the sea. So, even the surfers had to give it up because the sea is roiling, not acting its usual self. Just be mellow. Send out your drone camera and stay away until we get an all clear.
pipe up any time....
