I don't know if it could help people with dementia spit out the actual sentences they think they're saying, but for sure it's going to help people with ALS not get locked, perfectly lucid inside their heads, unable to communicate at all after a certain point in the progression. So, yeah, this stuff will have plenty of very bad applications, but it will be merciful for those who have historically suffered, too.
