He wouldn't let Cher go out alone or to say anything that was unscripted. He insisted it was for her own good. We didn't get it. He finally admitted that she was dumb as a post and would have ruined their celebrity if he didn't keep her in check. I'm sitting here thinking Sonny really did do more for her than she had a right to expect from anyone.
