For my internet OCD — privacy settings and cookie clearings and sundry other measures — saying that it's futile and don't fool myself and other negative efforts to get me to submit. I tell them I may have to take it but I can make it harder for them, and, most importantly, I can keep them from spamming me with suggestions and tailored ads and feeding their algorithms with more ways to mindfuck me.
Given the incoherence of so much of what we find online, I'd say it's silly to talk like this isn't already in use... and I don't think there's any protection from it other than sense, the most precieous commodity on earth.
