Imagine their mortification with the time it has taken for the rest of the world to catch up. There was other stuff in their sample, too. I think it was ebola. Readily identifiable snippets from AIDS and ebola and SARS. I think the reason they did not make a hairier deal out of it might have been not wanting to piss off Xi that badly.
