I finally got to watch the SOTU just now. Yes, it was a great big show, and it seemed to me it was aimed at raising all our spirits. For all his faults, the president does SERIOUSLY love people and is GRATEFUL for them/us. I mostly love everything he's trying to do for us... a couple of things, not so much... not, actually, at all. Still, he's worked really, really hard, with outright insane opposition, and I think that show was good for us.
And, I kid you not, on those couple of things with which I really seriously disagree, it comforts me some that there are many Americans who are very happy about them.
Yeah, yeah, they're still a buzz kill, but I really DO feel good for the people he's pleasing. I must be getting old or something.
