this may not be thrilling for california

I am looking at the enhanced radars and it seems I'm about to get the sky dumped on me here, but the system is coming from the southwest and heading toward the northeast, coming from the ocean and clipping California at Khoonkhwuttunne as it passes into Oregon. I hope the people down in Humboldt get any of it, but it does not look that way now... and it looks as though it will miss Happy Camp Complex altogether. Shit.
THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR NORTHWEST CALIFORNIA.

.DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT.

AN APPROACHING COLD FRONT WILL BRING WIDESPREAD MODERATE
RAINFALL ALONG WITH A SLIGHT CHANCE OF COASTAL THUNDERSTORMS.
SOME OF THESE THUNDERSTORMS COULD BRING GUSTY WINDS...LOCALLY
HEAVY RAINFALL AND SMALL HAIL.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...WEDNESDAY THROUGH MONDAY.

A BUILDING SWELL WILL CAUSE BREAKERS TO BE AROUND 15 FEET
ON NORTHWEST FACING BEACHES ON WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON.

A WET WEATHER PATTERN WILL CONTINUE THROUGH THE EXTENDED
FORECAST.
Just now it looks as though they really should have said, "extreme northwest"... it's maybe not even raining in Crescent City... but it could be that more is coming lower down behind this front.

Okay. Finally the band of storm front on the radars has thickened and gotten a better eastbound bump. So the rain is hitting Del Norte and Humboldt counties as forecast. Still, the rest of the state is looking really, really pathetic on the weather maps. Just about nothing to bubkes seems to be the story.

always and any time....
