When it was put to me that somebody was floating a trial balloon, saying all that to Peggy Noonan, it was like a tumbler falling into place on my safe. My immediate reaction was half joking and half serious. I wanted to know if they'd take all their toys that we paid for and leave us alone. I mean, of course not! But I'm so sick of it, and it is so pathetic, that it struck me it might be worth it to me if that could be an end to them, if they'd maybe take it all and fly off to colonize Pluto or something. Ha ha. We couldn't be that lucky.
