I wish he were not so heavily engaged in dirty standup land, but if he just has to be, it's a sort of redemption because he's giving big life lessons to people who need them like drowning men need air as he goes along. It's just that I'm certain he's made for bigger things... for serious literature... for stories that get Pulitzer Prizes....

Late that same day, took it into my head to listen to Duncan on the Drunken Taoist and when he got to the Robin Williams part he made me start crying all over my desk in front of my mahjongg solitaire. I know it was best I was too in love with him to talk with him because he'd've left me for the nanny, and I'd be soaking in my clawfoot trying to pull our fucked-up kid's head out of his ass right now, but.... Damn. It made me proud to hear, and he knew I was crazy for him, and he really did try.
