roaming again

Having listened now a few times to Michael again today, trying to absorb his points and see how they fit with what I know, feeling so much gratitude for his efforts to communicate his serious thought, I was finally ready to move on from it, not, of course, again, still, maybe forever, not the least interest in the card at hand, but maybe eventually. So I did. And, bam, Neil.

I'm listening now and thinking he's going flowery again, which means probably that he's not feeling it as much as he might, or I'm not listening yet carefully enough, which would most likely be it, but I've just started it, and I am greatly comforted, also, by the fact that he bothers to share his serious thought too.

It's too rare, and I am sometimes so much like a drowning woman finally reaching that distant air by the time they pipe up.

...

Too short.

So, having been distracted with late night cooking, I just listened over again. It didn't sit right. So again, and finally completely quiet in here, riding the words like a snatch of loosed seaweed in the surf.

I would not like to be his unfulfilling ex or one of his unfulfilling children, hearing him now. That "conduct" is not "excellent", Neil. Not excellent.

And, spiritual teachers never call themselves teachers. If you feel the need to tell people, you're not there yet.

Plus, either people have remarked on your frequent coarse speech and you feel you have to justify it, or it's what I call West Virginia Syndrome... Manchester haunting you. Fuck. Lenny Bruce died that we might express ourselves with whatever words we feel. Yes, you don't need to be gratuitously offending people in "polite" company, but, no, you don't need to worry about the words you feel in impolite company... your own.

If you are worried about the sensibilities of listeners or readers, don't swear! If you're worried they'll dis you for being from the not-posh working-class north... well... how transcendent is that?

If they can hear, they will, unless you're being too abstruse. When you're not bullshitting, you're not too abstruse, epithets and all.

Today I note that Michael differentiates between human and human being, Neil differentiates between human and full human, and I differentiate between human and true human. We all seem to be talking about the same thing.
