I know I've posted about it before, and mentioned it a bunch of times, but it occurs to me that, comforting as it is, we still need to keep it from those maniacs or we won't be comforted for long....

I have been scarred for life by hearing an LA resident scolding an NY resident for not moving there where it never rains right in the middle of our possibly worst drought in history. I don't want the people of Southern California to die of thirst. I want them to stop using up all the water from everywhere else, blithely going about their densely packed and paved over lives, desertifying other places so they don't have to deal with umbrellas....

And, at the risk of pissing off everyone who leaps to scream about eugenicists when the term "overpopulation" is used, Southern California is radically, radically, radically overpopulated. I don't care if it's cheaper to pipe in water from up here. Drill deeper or move... or... dry up.
