It is a supremely apt expression.
When I was little our neighbors moved a few blocks away to a new house that was right on the edge of a huge marsh. My parents would take us along to visit, but to get us out of the way they would give us a can, or a box, and tell us to go catch frogs. OMG! There were so many frogs. So many delights. We had to be dragged away from our task every time and convinced the next day to let them go.
But I know from great personal experience that madness is precisely a box full of frogs.
