No denying it... and, well, it's not very nice, though sometimes cute... and dogs are probably more willing to go along with the gag than most other critters. I know horses are fairly affable about getting gussied up for some big do, and maybe most of all for parades, but, still, I think we ought to remember always that we have absolutely no ground on which to base the supposition that all these critters are less intelligent than we are... that they have no regard for dignity and integrity... that they are fair game for our little amusements.
It's enough that so many of them make common cause with us to be called "domesticated". It's nice of them... and we owe it to them to feed them and get them medical care. If they happen to like us enough to join in with our little jokes, okay, but, well, really? Is that what they're doing?
