I foretold this parting of Greenwald from The Guardian, and that's not bragging. You'd have to be a moron to miss the future implications for Greenwald's career at that paper of releasing the Snowden docs. At least this way has dignity... and great promise.
Some putz is whining about getting Omidyar money for the despicable Democracy Now! and equally despicable The Real News in the comments under this video. I think these, and the despicable The Nation, are precisely what Poitras, Greenwald and Scahill have been wanting to escape. They can't tell the truth in those places any more than a reporter for the NYT.
I guess we'll just have to sit back and "hope" this new venture can escape the bonds of fascism... and do everything we can to support it so we just don't find ourselves back in the rut of believing this is a situation over which we have no agency.
