An hour later, the rain seems to have stopped and there are intermittent crashes and cracks and booms from things hurled out of the sky. So it may start again. The radar seems to indicate the system being pushed away from the hot spots, but I am still optimistic because the smoke extent is way less today, and it looks as though the system is still growing.
