People keep saying things like it's an alien power plant. Personally, it doesn't look as though it is attached to the moon at all. It doesn't seem to be going with the contour at all. It seems, in fact, to be a surface skewed by quite a few degrees to the surface of the moon that is giving off this strange phenomenon. Check your feelings, Luke. I feel it must be some sort of particle hitting some part of the camera... not a lens flare, but an actual particle hitting the lens or adjacent structure and giving off that electrical effect. Or maybe it's one of those glass buildings Hoagland talks about....
