I think they were the first city to reject fluoridation of their water, and today city water is filtered before it even gets to your house. Tap water in Berkeley is the same as the stuff you buy. This remains a rarity on Planet Earth.
I think they were the first place to give everybody recycling bins for the curb too. Berkeley picks up everyone's garbage, recycling and yard clippings at the curb once a week. This isn't as rare as it used to be.
We are going to be immortally sorry if we don't listen to them about the Post Office, too. Just remember the Russian Oligarchs, the fuckers who snatched up all the Soviet properties when the Soviet Union was crumbling. People starved. Life was chaos. No services were reliable. And despicable pigs made billions of dollars off what rightfully belonged to the people.
