I know that over the last year or so their legendarily iffy weather forecasting has gotten darn accurate. Noticeably improved. Spookily improved. I used to give my trips to the National Weather Service about a two-thirds chance of being right. Now it's up over 95% of the time. So I think I would not be chancing this one if I lived in or near New York.
