He's always kissing horses, hangin' out snacking with goats, measuring polar bears, tranquilizing tigers, playing with his dogs, kissing a sturgeon, warily circumnavigating brown bears in the wild... there are many, many pictures of him right in there with all manner of creatures. If he's faking it, he's doing an excellent job. It's never stilted, never with that stupid politician's get-me-outta-here look.
I remember he took a lot of flak for grabbing that little boy and kissing him on his belly some years back. Not an optimal move in today's pervy world, I must say. But it highlights for me that this stuff isn't just an endless run of photo ops for him. When Vladimir Putin and I were little kids, adults did that sort of thing when they wanted to be affectionate in a silly way... sort of grooving with the wonderment of being a short person... trying to make it a happy time. I think that sort of solidarity with living things is no longer fashionable.
It just says to me he isn't a fuddy-duddy, and if he's a psychopath like his counterparts in the West, he's waaaaaaay better at it than they are.
