I would love to understand the psychology of this. Other than the crushingly cynical view that this is about getting the militia to stand down while something awful drops on us, I can't find any upside to this, except, of course, that it's true... which... seems unlikely. If anyone has any real, not glib, input on this, I'd appreciate it very much.
