In recent weeks I have been hearing more and more and more and more, from more and more and more and more people, that if we but all turned vegetarian there would be no food crisis and the earth could recover.
Horseshit.
If we tore down factory farms that might become half true.
SOME humans can lead healthy lives as vegetarians. Most can't. We're omnivores. And most of us cannot get enough protein and iron or produce enough B12 without eating meat. Some humans can't get that without eating a lot of meat. Back in the overtly feudal times, it was against the law for peasants to eat meat. The peasants were not healthy and had a bad tendency to become precipitously dead without a finger being laid upon them by the nobility.
