The entry for "China Syndrome" has been modified hundreds of times since 11 March. Many more before that, too, but the link shows what it said just before the nukequake. I don't know how far back one would have to go in that page's history to find mention of the neutron beams being emitted or the likelihood of the materials getting down far enough to permanently irradiate the ground water, but, again, clearly, that's what we're looking at.
The radiation release estimates have been radically lower than actual as well....
